Happy Easter or as they say in Germany "Frohe Ostern" everyone.

As I am blogging this morning, I am aware that many of you are waking up in America right now and headed toward Easter Sunrise services while our Easter morning is over.
We were guests at the Nagold Methodist church this morning.  As I sat there waiting for the service to begin, I was keenly aware of friends in England and Scotand who were attending services at the same time we were. It was a moment of reflection about just how many people we have been priviledged to worship with over the years.
A moment to contemplate what it means to be part of the larger "Body of Christ". We sang unfamiliar songs and struggled with our "rusty" German but we felt one in heart with all of the churches we have attended over the years living abroad.
Notice behind the daffodils in my garden the cracked and broken clay pot.

I am reminded that I am that cracked vessel.  My body, my outward appearance, and my physical disabilities are part of this vessel.  My soul is stored in this fragile clay pot.
If we focus on our human side, discouragement is bound to set in because perhaps we aren't pretty enough, smart enough, good enough or healthy enough.

But on reflection what is kept inside my broken, ordinary jar of clay is a treasure. It's the Holy Spirit sent from Jesus himself we keep in our soul.

2 Corinthians 4:7-12; 16-18 (NIV)

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body."

So to my fellow "CRACK POTS"  Frohe Ostern from Mimi and Mac in Germany!
Mac gives "Ostern" a thumbs up!

But he gives missing friends and family two thumbs down!
Tomorrow we talk about  GNOCCHI on the blog.
