Freilichtmuseum/ Black Forest Vogtsbauernhof Open-Air Museum

Black Forest Open-Air Museum
 77793 Gutach

Both of my grandfather's farmed in Maine.
Since we lived on a farming estate in Scotland, we have become fascinated with farming, especially how things were done many years ago.
The Black Forest Farm Museum offers a glimpse into by-gone days.

You can walk around the lovely farm gardens.

Marvel at the thatched roofs.

Explore the old dining and living room area in the farm house.

See the old bedrooms in the farm house.

We found the old mill quite interesting with it funny little face where the grains came out.

I think he's kinda cute!

It was interesting to see how they brought their wood down from the mountains.

Some children playing with a baby goat.

Speaking of children, they are almost finished with this amazing playground area for kids.
It even looks to have a water play area in it.
Since this museum is so close to the the Gutach Rodelbahn, it's a great place to soak up some history as well as give the kiddies a good time!

Why not stop on the way out for an ice-cream by the river cafe?
Mac gives it a thumb's up and says to tell you it's a fun day out for a family!
