Garmisch-Partenkirschen/Hotel Drei Mohren

Our next adventure took place in Garmisch-Partenkirschen. This town is known as one of the most desirable destinations in the Bavarian Alps, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area is an idyllic location nestled at the foot of the alps. There is so much to do in this area.  You can hike, geo-cache, ski, swim, mountain bike, boat, and have various health and spa treatments.

Since the American resort was full, and rather expensive for us because we are contractors, we opted for the Drei Mohren hotel in the old part of the city.
Ludwigstrasse 65, Garmisch-Partenkirchen
Telephone: 08821/9130
What a mistake!

We were charged 45 euros per person. 8 euros for extra bedding for Jonah, and 5 euros to have the dog in the hotel.  Both rooms were not of the same standard. This was the better room of the two.  The other room was no more than a closet.  Our rooms faced the street and we found it to be very noisy until quite late.

Having said all this, we did have the best breakfast of the entire trip at this hotel.
They had all the usual German fare, but also the hotel catered to the American visitors with bacon, sausage and scrambled egg as well as a variety of tea.
Even little Jonah pouted about the prices for rooms that were not of the same
quality.
But breakfast was all beautifully presented.

Variety of tea and juices. They also had a bottle of champagne for those who might like a champagne breakfast.

Breads, croissants, and jams, jelly and honey.

It was Firemen Rememberance Sunday when we were there. We enjoyed a lovely parade as they walked to the church .

We got to see them again on their way back from the service.
Mac gives the Drei Mohren hotel a thumbs down for the value for money.

But we all agree that the breakfast was fantastic.
Tomorrow we will blog about our Indian dinner and Schuhplattler.
